The premise to this film has some merit but unfortunately the  direction/editing of the film leaves a lot to be desired. The pace and sequencing is sleep inducing.
Why Will Smith chose to put his faith into Gabriele Muccino’s (The Pursuit of Happyness) vision is a mystery, hopefully he has learned from his mistake.
